Employees of our company, contractors, consultants, partners and any other external entity are also covered.

Generally, our policy refers to anyone we collaborate with or acts on our behalf and may need occasional access to data.

  • Facilitate business transactions such as ordering products, invoicing customers & paying suppliers

  • Contact customers with product and pricing information via Marketing emails and other email communications

  • Seek your views or comments on the services we provide.

  • Contact customers by letter when required

  • Carry out necessary HR procedures for employees as and when required

HOME DELIVERY SERVICES

We may at times use third party courier services who act on our behalf to deliver our products. The only information we provide them with is your name, address, postcode, telephone number(s) where relevant and order details. This is only provided selectively and when necessary.

VISITORS TO OUR SHOWROOM PREMISES

When you visit our premises, we store data which may collect your name, company name, and address or any other personal details you choose to share with us at the time.

CCTV recording is in operation at our premises for:

  • For the prevention and detection of crime

  • For evidence in any civil or criminal legal proceedings

  • To assist in investigations

  • For safety and security

  • Dealing with any queries, complaints or enquiries

VISITORS TO OUR WEBSITES & USE OF COOKIES 

Your name, address, email address and contact numbers will be collected when you fill out the contact form(s) on our website(s).

If you are under 16 years of age, you MUST obtain parental consent before providing any personal information to us.

We may collect information about your computer, including where available your IP address, operating system and browser type, for system administration and to report aggregate information to our advertisers. This is statistical data about our users’ browsing actions and patterns and does not identify any individual. Some of our normal business processes require involvement from specialist IT service providers, who may have indirect access to our databases. Examples of this include website hosting, network & server maintenance.

JOB APPLICANTS, CURRENT AND FORMER SAGAR CERAMICS EMPLOYEES

WHAT WILL WE DO WITH THE INFORMATION YOU PROVIDE TO US?

All information you provide during the application process will only be used for the purpose of progressing your application, or to fulfill legal or regulatory requirements if necessary.

We will not share any of the information you provide during Sagar Ceramics internal recruitment process with any third parties for marketing purposes. Data sent electronically or processed beyond the initial application will be stored within the European Economic Area by our third-party processors – all processors have appropriate levels of security and organisational controls to meet data protection requirements. The information you provide will be held securely by us and/or our data processors whether the information is in electronic or physical format.

We will use the contact details you provide to us to contact you to progress your application. We will use the other information you provide to assess your suitability for the role you have applied for. 

WHAT INFORMATION DO WE ASK FOR, AND WHY?

We do not collect more information than we need to fulfil our stated purposes and will not retain it for longer than is necessary.

The information we ask for is used to assess your suitability for employment. You don’t have to provide what we ask for, but it might affect your application if you don’t. 

APPLICATION STAGE

Applications may be received by email, physically by post or through a third-party recruitment agency. We may ask you for your personal details including name and contact details. We will also ask you about your previous experience, education, referees and for answers to questions relevant to the role you have applied for. Our recruitment team will have access to this information.

ASSESSMENTS

We might ask you to participate in assessment days; complete tests or occupational personality profile questionnaires; and/or to attend an interview – or a combination of these. Information will be generated by you and by us. For example, you might complete a written test, or we might take interview notes. This information is held by the Sagar Ceramics.  If you are unsuccessful following assessment for the position you have applied for, we may retain your details for a period of up to three years.

CONDITIONAL OFFER

If we make a conditional offer of employment we will ask you for information so that we can carry out pre-employment checks. You must successfully complete pre-employment checks to progress to a final offer. We are required to confirm the identity of our staff, their right to work in the United Kingdom and seek assurance as to their trustworthiness, integrity and reliability.

You will therefore be required to provide:

  • Proof of your identity – you will be asked to attend our office with original documents, we will take copies.

  • Proof of your qualifications – you will be asked to attend our office with original documents, we will take copies.

  • You will be asked to complete a criminal records declaration to declare any unspent convictions.

  • We will contact your referees, using the details you provide in your application, directly to obtain references

  • We will also ask you to complete a questionnaire about your health. This is to establish your fitness to work. This is done through a data processor (please see below).

If we make a final offer, we will also ask you for the following:

  • Bank details – to process salary payments

  • Emergency contact details – so we know who to contact in case you have an emergency at work.

HOW LONG WILL WE KEEP YOUR DATA

We will only ever retain personal information for as long as is necessary.We are required under UK tax law to keep your basic personal data (name, address, contact details) for a minimum of 6 years.

Where you have consented to us using your details for direct marketing, we will keep such data until you notify us otherwise and/or withdraw your consent. 

YOUR RIGHTS
You have the right to access any personal information that we process about you and to request information about: -

  • What personal data we hold about you

  • The purposes of the processing

  • The categories of personal data concerned

  • The recipients to whom the personal data has/will be disclosed

  • How long we intend to store your personal data for

  • If we did not collect the data directly from you, information about the source

If you believe that we hold any incomplete or inaccurate data about you, you have the right to ask us to correct and/or complete the information and we will strive to update/correct it as quickly as possible; unless there is a valid reason for not doing so, at which point you will be notified.

You also have the right to request erasure of your personal data or to restrict processing in accordance with data protection laws, as well as to object to any direct marketing from us and to be informed about any automated decision-making that we use.

If we receive a request from you to exercise any of the above rights, we may ask you to verify your identity before acting on the relevant request; this is to ensure that your data is protected and kept secure.

CONSEQUENCE OF NOT PROVIDING YOUR DATA
You are not obligated to provide your personal information to Sagar Ceramics, however, as this information is required for us to provide you with our services or deliver your products, we will not be able to offer some/all of our products or services without it.

Sagar Ceramics reserves the right, at its sole discretion to change, modify or otherwise alter these terms and conditions at any time. Such changes and/or modifications shall become effective immediately upon the posting thereof. Continued use of Sagar Ceramics following the posting of changes and/or modifications constitutes acceptance of the revised terms and conditions.
